Our Story

A Grand Baie Table Since 1989

Since 1989, Le Capitaine has served fresh seafood and Creole cuisine on Royal Road in Grand Baie. What began as a family table by the lagoon is now one of the north's most loved restaurants — yet nothing essential has changed: the catch arrives daily, the recipes remain ours, and every guest is welcomed like a regular. From our signature lobster Thermidor to the Tour de Fruits de Mer for two, each dish carries thirty-seven years of Mauritian flavour.
